LessonsIf there are sufficient numbers, an experienced bridge teacher conducts Beginners Lessons in contract bridge bidding, play and defence, for those who want to learn this interesting game, or to refresh their bridge knowledge. There are usually 10 lessons starting on the first Wednesday in February and continuing until early April. These sessions are held at our clubrooms (Education Centre, Hibiscus Resort, Lakehead Drive, Chancellor Park) each Wednesday from 8.45 am to 11.30 am. Please contact our Secretary Jill Lovett (5445 4819) for enquiries or to enrol for these Beginners lessons. Following completion of the Beginners Lessons, Buderim Contract Bridge Club arranges at least 6 Example Hands Sessions, which continue until mid May. These sessions are aimed at developing confidence in bidding, play and defence for those who have attended the Beginners Lessons. At the Example Hands Sessions, those who have attended the Beginners Lessons bid, play and defend a series of computer dealt hands without any assistance. The correct bidding, selection of the opening lead and play and defence of each hand as used by advanced players, are then analysed and discussed. The resultant outcomes of each hand are then compared to the possible contracts that could be achieved, as determined by computer. These sessions are held at our clubrooms (Education Centre, Hibiscus Resort, Lakehead Drive, Chancellor Park) each Wednesday from 09.30 am to 11.30 am. If there are sufficient numbers, usually in November each year, we conduct Advanced Lessons for those players who want to further improve their competitive bidding, play and defence skills. Please contact our Secretary Jill Lovett (5445 4819) for enquiries or to enrol for these advanced lessons. |
